1. Baptism must be in the name of The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit: Matt. 28:18,19.
2. What single name do all three have?
a. The Father is called Lord: Ps. 110:1,4.
b. Jesus is called Lord: Acts. 10:36; 1 Cor. 12:3.
c. The Holy Spirit is called Lord. 2 Cor. 3:17,18.
d. So baptism is in the name of The Lord: Acts. 10:48.
e. The word Lord is a Translation of YAHWEH.
3. Although we are to be baptized in the name of The Lord, yet we are to be baptized in the name of Jesus: Acts. 2:38.
4. Why? Because the name of Jesus means (Lord) YAHWEH-Saviour: Matt. 1:21.
5. The Hebrew for Jesus is Yahshua, it means YAHWEH-Saviour, Jesus/Yahshua is the same YAHWEH-Saviour (or Lord) of the first witness.
a. YAHWEH is the only Saviour: Isa. 43:11; Hos. 13:4.
b. Jesus is the only Saviour: Lk. 2:11; Acts. 4:10-12.
c. Jesus and YAHWEH is the same, therefore Jesus is YAHWEH: (Jn. 1:19-23,29; Isa. 40:3); (Rom. 14:7-12; Isa. 45:21-25); (Rom. 10:9-13; Joel. 2:32).
d. Also God was in the flesh of Christ: 2 Cor. 5:19; Col. 2:9.
e. Jesus is even called God (YAHWEH) and Saviour: Tit. 2:13; 2 Pet. 1:1.
f. So to be baptized in Jesus name is to be baptized in the name of The Lord (YAHWEH) who is Saviour: (Isa. 49:26; Phil. 3:20) (Isa. 60:16; Tit. 1:4); 2 Pet. 1:11; 2 Pet. 3:2,18.
6. Baptism is a symbol of the death of the old man of sin and the resurrection of the new man of righteousness: Rom. 6:3-8.
7. Baptism is the public entrance into membership of God's visible church: Acts. 2:41,47; 1 Cor. 12:13.
