Love is the greatest of the three greats. 1 Cor. 13:13.
The fruit of the Spirit is love. Gal. 5:22.
Everyone that loveth is born of God. 1 Jn. 4:7,8.
God is love in His Divine Nature. 1 Jn. 4:8,16.
Love in the New Testament (S.W.) is never presented as a substitute for the Commandments or Law of God. Love is presented as the SAME as the Law of God or obedience to that Law. Rom. 13:8-10.
Love for God is keeping His Commandments. 1 Jn. 5:2,3.
If we love Jesus (who is God) we will keep His Commandments. Jn. 14:15.
Jesus’ commandments is “love one another” which is the same as keeping the Law of God. Jn. 15:12,10.
In fact, Jesus presented the whole Ten Commandments as love to God and love to man, He never presented Love as a substitute to the Law as some ministers claim, He presented love as the same as the Law. Mk. 12:29-31; Matt. 22:36-40.
But love as the Law is not a New Testament concept only, it in fact came from the Old Testament (F.W.). Observe love to God in the Old Testament. Deut. 6:4-6; Deut. 10:12,13.
Observe love to man in the Old Testament. Lev. 19:18; Deut. 10:19.
The very Ten Commandments in the Old Testament tells us that love for God is keeping the Law. Ex. 20:5,6.
The Old Testament tells us that love for God is keeping the Law of God. Deut. 11:1,22.
Those who say they love God and do not keep His Commandments are plain liars. 1 Jn. 2:3,4.
God dwells only in those who loves or keep the Law. 1 Jn. 4:12.
