DIWALI (DIVALI) AND THE SO-CALLED GODDESS LAKSHMI. By Nyron Medina

1. The customs of the people are vain. Jer. 10:1-7; Deut. 12: 30,31. 2. The gods the people worship are devils. Deut. 32: 16,17; Ps. 106:34-38. 3. Salvation is found only in Christ. Acts. 4:10-12. 4. Lakshmi is also the pagan Demeter, Aphrodite. The Indian Theogony, pg. 162,163. Goddess Laksmi, pg. 124. 5. Lakshmi is Ceres and Durga (Kali). Indian Theogony, pg. 162,163,172. Goddess Laksmi, pg. 111,123,128. 6. Lakshmi is Venus and Asherat. Indian Theogony, pg. 296. 7. Asherah who is Lakshmi (also Ashtaroth in the Bible) is rejected by God. Jud. 3:7; Jer. 7:18; Jud. 2:13; Jud. 10:6. 8. Lakshmi's early form was evil. Goddess Laksmi, pg. 43-44,45. 9. One must first propitiate Alakshmi before one worships Lakshmi to get blessings. Goddess Lakshmi, pg. 138,142, 152-153. 10. What Diwali (Divali) really is. Goddess Lakshmi, pg. 182. 11. Why light lamps? Lakshmi, pg. 17-18. 12. Lakshmi's light is to scare away demons. WHO IS KALI?

Who is Kali? An aspect of Durgaa. See: D.N. Vidyarthi, What Every Hindu Must Know, pg. 57. 5. The following references are designed to show three major things about the Indian worship of a goddess. a. The historical development of goddess worship in the periods of the development of Hinduism. b. There was a syncretism of the various goddesses in India into one major goddess - The Durga/Lakshmi form. c. Kali worship is ancient pagan Canaanite goddess worship in its Indian cultural form. d. For the above, See: Sukumari Bhattacharji, The Indian Theogony, pg. 81-89,158-177. A.G. Mitchell, Hindu Gods And Goddesses, plates 4,8 34,46,48. 6. Different forms of the goddess which includes Kali. See: a. H.H. Wilson, Religions of the Hindus, Vol. 1. pg. 92-93,145,241,245-246,247,252,254-255,264. b. H.H. Wilson, Religions of the Hindus, Vol. 2. pg. 184, 187-188,190,268-269. 7. Here is evidence from the Hindu scriptures where Lakshmi is the same Durga/Kali in another sense.

Hinduism teaches different types of Pantheism.

a. The god-in-everything theory: “but a higher advanced Sadhaka who has a pure mind and who sees the divine presence everywhere and in everything, can worship any kind of object.” Swami Sivananda, The Philosophy and Significance of Idol Worship, p. 8. (Emphasis supplied). “… it is possible to commune with the all-pervading Lord through the medium of and idol. The divinity of the all pervading God is vibrant in every atom of creation.” Ibid, p. 12 (Emphasis supplied). b. The everything-is-god theory: “Even so, the Lord is highly pleased when a small portion of His Virat (cosmic) body is worshipped. An idol is a part of the body of the Lord. The whole world is His Body, Virat Form.” Ibid, pp. 14-15. (Emphasis supplied). “To the worshipper who believes the symbol, any kind of image is the body of the Lord under the form of stone , clay, brass, picture, Saligram, etc. Such worship can never be idolotry . All matter is a manifestation of God … all is a manifestation of God …” Ibi

The Bible teaches that God is One, divine, Spirit Nature manifested in three persons.

a. God is One. 1 Cor. 8:4,6; Deut. 32:39. b. God is Spirit. Jn. 4:24. c. God is divine Nature. 2 Pet. 1:4. d. God is manifested in three persons. 1 Jn 5:7. i. The Father is God. Tit. 1:4; 2 Tim. 1:2. ii. Jesus is God. Heb. 1:6,8,9. iii. The Spirit is God. 2 Cor. 3:17; 1 Cor. 2:10-13. 6. Sometimes people use the following Scriptures to assume that God is all-pervading, but this is not what it means. It means that God sees all things so that none can hide from Him, He even sees and hears what is in their hearts. Jer. 23:24-26. 7. This scripture is explained in another place as God’s eyes going all over the earth. 2 Chr. 16:9; Pr. 15;3; Zech. 4:10. 8. That God is not in everything or all-pervading is seen in that He does not dwell in human temples. Acts 7:47-49; Acts 17:24. 9. God who is Love does not dwell in the wicked. (1 Jn. 4:16; 1 Jn. 3:17). 10. It is not God, but the spirit of Satan that dwells in the wicked, thus God is not all-pervading. Eph. 2:1,2. 1

COMMENTS ON THE GODHEAD by Brother Kemron Glasgow

The scripture identifies that there is ONE GOD.  "Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:"  This is numerical Oneness as apart from unity. After following your train of reasoning i would like to place something forth for you to reason. 1. You identified that there was a point "way back in eternity" when Christ came forth from GOD. Regardless of how men would want to twist it... by that reasoning then there was a point in there when Christ was not existent. Please find a scripture that supports your point on this. 2. You said that we worship "2" and not "3".... To this I would like to explain that in light of the first commandment " I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.Thou shalt have no other gods before me." (Exodus 20:2-3) and also "I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.&q

THE MAN OF ROMANS 7 IS UNCONVERTED BUT CONVICTED

Now, is Romans chapter seven an account of the struggle between the regenerate man and his old self? This is certainly not so for various reasons evident in Romans chapter seven itself. a. The man of Roman seven is not converted, he is lost in sin. Being in the flesh the passions of sins is in the person bringing forth deathly fruits; this is not a converted person. Rom. 7:5. b. The converted person has the old man dead (Rom. 6:6) thus serves in the newness of life. To serve in such change means the person is not sinning. Rom. 7:6. c. When sin works in the person all manner of concupiscence (evil desires), the law shows him that he is spiritually dead because sin is in him. Rom. 7:8,9. d. The man whom sin deceives, it spiritually slays, thus the man cannot be converted. Rom. 7:11. e. Sin working death in a person could never mean that the person is regenerated, thus the man of Romans seven is not regenerated. Rom. 7:13. f. This is why Paul identifies himself as yet being

The Old Man is Really Dead and Replaced by a New One:

The old man is really dead so that the converted man does not sin. Rom. 6:6,7. The old man is put off completely and replaced with a new man that has only righteousness. Eph. 4:22-24. The old man is not dead in a sense, he is really dead and replaced with a new man created by God, thus he is sinfree. Col. 3:9,10. Only the righteousness of the Law is fulfilled in those who have the Spirit and walk therein. (Rom. 8:4; 1 Jn. 3:24).

Two Natures Subsist Together?

Does Christ’s new nature subsist with the old nature in the converted person? We have shown before that there is nothing called old nature in the Bible. a. When Christ is in the person, old things are past away, all things become new. 2 Cor. 5:17. b. Light and darkness cannot dwell together, so the Nature of God cannot dwell together, so the Nature of God cannot dwell with sin in man. 1 Jn. 1:5-7; 1 Jn. 2:10,11. c. The Spirit of God cannot dwell together with the flesh. Gal. 5:16,17. No Inner Conflict: There is no inner conflict between two natures in the converted person. Here are the reasons. a. The wretchedness that destroys peace is due to being brought into sin while wanting to live holy. Rom. 7:22-24. b. This is all due to the fact that the man, being sold under sin is unconverted. Rom. 7:13-15. c. God has given great peace to those who are converted. (Rom. 8:6; Rom. 5:1; Ps. 119:165). d. When the peace of God rules in the heart it is because no sin is wit

SCRIPTURES THAT WILL HELP US UNDERSTAND GENESIS 1:27

To be made in the image of God is to be created with the Divine Nature. Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. Col 3:10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him Eph 4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness .2 Peter 1:3-4 3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: 4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. With a meditation we see that man was created with the knowledge of God which is righteousness and holiness (God aloneness) or we can say, man was created with the Divine nature. Adam and Eve sinned and

GOD’S COVENANT

10. It is now fitting to ask what kind of seal is YHWH’s Sabbath? This is because the use of the word “seal” is too weak, and needs other words to give strength to it. To understand this, we need to first understand that the Bible calls the Sabbath the Covenant. Ex. 31:16,17; Isa. 56:4,6. 11. What does the word “covenant” mean? We are told that it is not a proper translation of the Greek word “diatheke”, it should be translated “will” or “testament” (testimony ). “Perhaps the most necessary investigation still waiting to be made is that relating to the word diatheke, which so many scholars translate unhesitatingly “covenant.” Now as the new texts help us generally to reconstruct Hellenistic family law and the law of inheritance, so in particular our knowledge of Hellenistic wills has been wonderfully increased by a number of originals on stone or papyrus. There is simple material to back me in the statement that no one in the Mediterranean world in the first century A.D. would ha

THE SABBATH, GOD’S POWER

Pleasant Sabbath Face book Friends I pray that you find some time in this Blessed Day to open your Bible and go through these studies, you will surely be doubly blessed. 14. But the Sabbath as God’s Will, and Testimony of that Will also includes the sanctifying / holifying of those who keep it, which is done by the Gospel which is the power of God. (Exodus 31:13; Ezekiel 20:12; John 17:17; Acts 26:18; Philippians 1:27; Romans 1:16,17). 15. Being told to “… keep [the Sabbath] holy …”, and being required to do certain works that can only be done by Faith, would mean that the Sabbath Covenant-Seal also includes the Gospel, the power of God as part of it that makes us keep the whole Law. (Exodus 20:8-11; Philippians 1:27; Romans 3:28,30,31; James 2:8-12). a. The following chart illustrates that the “covenant” meaning of the Sabbath involves or also means the Gospel. Isa. 56:4-6. SABBATH AS COVENANT-POWER SEAL KEEPING THE THE GOSPEL THAT WHOLE LAW CAUSES LAW-KEEPING GOD’S

THE IMPORTANCE OF FAITH AND WHAT FAITH IS NOT

Without Faith it is impossible to please God. Heb. 11:6 What is not of Faith is sin. Rom. 14:23. The just lives by Faith. Rom. 1:17; Heb. 10:38. Faith is not believing, the devils also believes. Jam. 2:19. All men have not Faith, but all men have been believing. 2 Thess. 3:2. The Faith we are saved by is not our believing but Jesus’ Faith. Jam. 2:1; Rev. 14:12. This Faith is not human believing, it is a gift of the Spirit. Gal. 5:22. This Faith comes by hearing (understanding), but everyone has the ability to believe. Rom. 10:17. Believing and Faith are separated, the Faith being presented as Jesus’ Faith. Gal. 2:16; Rom. 3:22.

WHAT IS FAITH? IT IS THE REVEALED TRUTHS OF JESUS CHRIST PT. 1

The definition of Faith is different to how one gets Faith, we see here what Faith is, and that we get Faith by believing. Heb. 11:1,6. Faith is the evidence of things you cannot see, which is the word of God. Heb. 11:1. a. Substance is “Hupostasis” in the Greek and it means ‘titledeed”. See: Kenneth S. Wuest, Bypaths in the Greek New Testament, pg. 18-19. “ “FAITH is the substance of things hoped for” (Heb. 11:1). The Greek word translated “substance” had a technical meaning in the business world of the first century. It referred to one’s property or effects. It was used in such expressions as “Out of this estate I declare that my husband owes me,” or, “more land than I actually possess,” the italicized words being the translation of the word. It was also used to refer to “the whole body of documents bearing on the ownership of a person’s property, deposited in the archives, and forming the evidence of ownership.” Moulton and Milligan in their “Vocabulary of the Greek Tes

THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IS DIFFERENT FROM THE LAW.

The Righteousness of God is in the Gospel, and it is what makes the Gospel works. Romans 1:16,17. This Righteousness is given into all that believe.  Romans 3:22. It is a Righteousness that is different from the Law.  Romans 3:21. We must be found in the Truths or Faith of Jesus Christ, in the Judgment, having this Righteousness of God by Faith . Philippians 3:9. 5. But what is the Righteousness of God? It is YHWH Himself. Jeremiah 23:5,6.

WHAT IS FAITH? IT IS THE REVEALED TRUTHS OF JESUS CHRIST PT. 2

Faith is the revealed Truths of God. 1 Tim. 4:6. The revealed Truths of God’s Love was in Abraham’s mind when he went to a new land he did not see. Heb. 11:8-10. The Faith Abraham had was the Truths about the death and resurrection of Jesus, that caused him to offer up his son to God. Heb. 11:17-19. Paul kept the Faith (not kept the believing). 2 Tim. 4:7. The faith (revealed Truths) once delivered to the Saints. Jude. 3. Faith is the Gospel. Phil. 1:27. You can preach the Faith, but not preach believing. Gal. 1:23.

WHAT IS FAITH? IT IS THE REVEALED TRUTHS OF GOD PT. 3

Faith is presented as the Word of God in comparing the text of the O. T. and N. T. (Deut. 30:10-14; Rom. 10:6-8). Justified by the Faith of Jesus Christ is justified by His knowledge. (Gal. 2:16; Isa. 53:11). The Spirit of Truth is the Spirit of Faith. (Jn. 16:13,14; 2 Cor. 4:13). Illustration of what is Faith. ““FAITH is the substance of things hoped for” (Heb. 11:1). The Greek word translated “substance” had a technical meaning in the business world of the first century. It referred to one’s property or effects. It was used in such expressions as “Out of this estate I declare that my husband owes me,” or, “more land than I actually possess,” the italicized words being the translation of the word. It was also used to refer to “the whole body of documents bearing on the ownership of a person’s property, deposited in the archives, and forming the evidence of ownership.” Moulton and Milligan in their “Vocabulary of the Greek Testament” say of these uses, “These varied u

The Righteousness of God as God Himself

52. In getting to the topic of the Righteousness of God, we see that Jesus is called the Branch of Righteousness, and the branch is called YHWH Righteousness; this is Jesus, not according to His humanity, but according to His divinity, thus it is His divinity that is YHWH our Righteousness, so that the Righteousness of God that saves us is the Nature of God. Jeremiah 33:15,16. 53. The Righteousness we see in the light of the Gospel is God’s Nature, thus God is our Righteousness. (Micah 7:9; 2 Corinthians 4:4; Romans 1:16,17). The Righteousness of God that is to be seen is His Love to Israel, this is God Himself, for God is Love, it is not Christ’s obedience to the Law. (Micah 6:5; 1 John 4:8). The Sun of Righteousness is the light that has Righteousness this is Jesus the Truth, not His perfect obedience to the Law, but it is His Nature of Love which heals sin, because His Name is also YHWH that heals. (Micah 4:2; Exodus 15:26). The Righteousness that redeems is God Himsel

Righteousness of God Exposited By Nyron Medina

Abraham received the imputed Righteousness of God, not the righteousness of the Law which he could not do before he was converted, nor was it Christ’s perfect obedience to the Law which was not yet worked out since He had not as yet incarnated on the earth. Thus this Righteousness had to be Christ's (God’s) eternal Righteousness He had before His incarnation, and for all eternity. (Genesis 15:5,6; Romans 4:1– 5; 9 –11). The Righteousness ascribed to God could not be the works of the law or Christ’s personal obedience which were to come later, thus it is the Righteousness of God or is His Nature which is manifested in His just dealings. Job 36:3, 4 - 12. The name of God is parallel to His Righteousness, thus the Righteousness of God is His name which is His divinity. Psalm 7:17. God’s Righteousness that is to be declared is not Christ’s obedience to the Law, for that had not yet come, or the Law itself in this text, it is God’s just Nature as seen in His works and in His grea

Summary Conclusion on the Righteousness of God

It is true to say that the Righteousness of God is the Law of God proper, it is equally true to say that it is Christ’s perfect obedience to the Law, for Christ is God, and all His historical obedience was righteousness. To claim that all God’s salvific administration towards sinful humanity is the Righteousness of God is to be on target, for so also do the scriptures speak. But what is the Righteousness of God that is imputed to us? What is the Righteousness of God that is given to us in Justification and is our salvation? It is none of the Righteousness of God we have referred to above. What we are looking for is a Righteousness of God that is without the Law, that is, a Righteousness of God that is APART FROM the Law of works, a Righteousness of God that is DIFFERENT to the Ten Commandments, this is the Righteousness of God that we are given in Faith for our Justification and salvation. The scriptures of the First and Second Witnesses speak of this unique Righteousness whi

What Righteousness Is Imputed To Us? The Personal Obedience Of Jesus Christ To The Law, Or The Nature Of God, Love? Which?

Evangelicals today teach that the Righteousness that is imputed to the penitent is the perfect obedience of Jesus Christ to the Law of God, thus the personal obedience of Jesus Christ 2000 years ago is our imputed righteousness. “In addition to the pardon of sin, justification declares that all the claims of the Law are satisfies in respect to the  justified. It is the act of a Judge and not of a sovereign. The Law is not relaxed or set aside, but is declared to be fulfilled in the strictest sense; and so the person justified is declared to be entitled to all the advantages and rewards arising from perfect obedience to the Law … Justification is not the forgiveness of a man without righteousness, but a declaration that he possesses a righteousness which perfectly and for ever satisfies the Law, namely, Christ’s righteousness.” Justification by Faith, p. 1. When Jesus came to the earth He lived a sinless life. 1 Peter 1:19; 1 Peter 2:21,22; Hebrews 4:15. He kept the Law of Go
