TO BE JUSTIFIED IS TO BE BORN AGAIN By Nyron Medina

1. Justification and to be Born Again are presented as different in Evangelical Theology. See: J.I. Packer, God's Words, pp. 139-140,145,148-151. John B. Marchbanks, Great Doctrines Relating to Salvation, pp. 29,30,16,19.

2. Even John Wesley made a serious mistake concerning Justification and the new birth. John Wesley, The Works of Wesley, Sermons, Vol. 1, pp. 298-299.
3. To present them as different means to hinge our salvation upon the objective one "Justification", and this undermines the fact that God wants a Changed person.
a. undermining the change (which is wrongly called sanctification). Steve Marshall, What The Difference, pp. 19,20,28-29,37-38,23.
b. God wants a changed person. Isa. 1:16-18; Gal. 5:16, 17.
4. A true idea of what Justification is shows it to be the "Born Again" experience.
a. To be justified is to be made righteous. Rom. 3:20,22; (Rom. 4:5-8; Ps. 32:1,2,5,11); (Rom. 8:6; Rom. 5:1, 18); Gal. 2:16,20; Gal. 3:8,14.
b. To be born again is to be made a new spiritual person that is righteous. (2 Cor. 5:17,21; 1 Jn. 3:7).
5. In justifying us God puts Righteousness into us. Rom. 3: 22; (Rom. 10:4; Gal. 2:20).
In giving birth to us God gives us or puts a new man in us that has the Righteousness of God. Eph. 4:23,24.
7. In justifying us God gives us the Faith (revealed Truths/the Gospel) of Jesus for Righteousness. Rom. 4:5,9.
8. In giving birth to us God gives the character of Christ (the Truth Jn. 14:6) that from it his Divine Nature may be in us. (1 Jn. 5:10-12; 2 Jn. 9; 1 Jn. 4:16).
9. We are justified and given a new birth by the word of God.
a. Justified by Christ's knowledge. Isa. 53:11.
b. Born again by the word of Truth. Jam. 1:18.
10. We are given the Spirit in Justification and when we are born again also.
a. The gift of the Spirit is Justification. (Gal. 3:8,14; Gal. 4:6).
b. Born again of the Spirit. Jn. 3:5,6.
11. We are given a new mind by being Justified and by being born again.
a. A new spiritual mind from Justification. (Rom. 8:6; Rom. 5:1).
b. A new spirit of the mind by being born again. Rom. 12: 2; Eph. 4:23.
12. Since regeneration (the new birth) and Justification are presented together in the Bible, then they are one and the same. Tit. 3:5-7.
13. When we are Justified and born again we do righteousness (the works of the Law).
a. Justified, so we do Righteousness. Rom. 3:30,31.
b. Born again so we do Righteousness. 1 Jn. 2:29.
14. When we are justified and born again we do not commit sin.
a. Justified thus free from sin. Rom. 6:6,7,11,12.
b. Born again thus free from sin. 1 Jn. 3:9,10.
15. Luther taught the new birth and justification to be the same. Peter Toon, Born Again, pp. 101-102. Erwin R. Gane, The Scriptural Doctrine of Justification, pp. 13-15.
Mrs. White taught the new birth and justification to be the same thing. See: Erwin R. Gane, The Scriptural Doctrine of Justification, pp. 11-12,13.

WHAT OUR INQUIRY ABOUT OURSELVES SHOULD BE?

WHAT OUR INQUIRY ABOUT OURSELVES  SHOULD BE? We are in the very last days, we are told that the last controversy will be very short. “We are standing on the threshold of great and solemn events. Prophecies are fulfilling. The last great conflict will be short, but terrible. Old controversies will be revived. New controversies will arise. We have a great work to do. Our ministerial work must not cease. The last warning must be given to the world. There is a special power in the presentation of the truth at the present time. How long will it last? Only a little while.” Ellen G. White, Selected Messages bk. 3, pg. 419. And in view of the lateness of time, what should be the inquiry of everyone? We are told: “The inquiry of everyone should be ‘whose am I? To whom do I owe allegiance? Is my heart renewed? Is my soul reformed? Are my sins forgiven? Will they be blotted out when the time of refreshing shall come?” Ibid, pg. 419. We must needs examine ourselves to see if we...

MRS WHITE QUOTES ON THE 1888 MESSAGE REJECTION

1. “The Lord in His great mercy sent a most precious message to His people through Elders Waggoner and Jones.” — TM p. 91. 2. “God gave to His servants a testimony that presented the truth as it is in Jesus, which is the third angel’s message, in clear distinct lines” — TM p. 93. 3. “The message of the gospel of His grace was to be given to the church in clear and distinct lines, that the world should no longer say that Seventh-Day Adventists talk the law, the law, but do not teach or believe Christ. The efficacy of the blood of Christ was to be presented to the people with freshness and power.” — TM p. 92. 4. “This is the very work which the Lord designs that the message He has given His servants, shall perform in the heart and mind of every human agent….God gave to His messengers just what the people needed.” — TM p. 95. 5. “The Lord would have these grand themes studied in our churches, and if every church member shall give entrance to the word of God it will give light and...

EGW QUOTE ON SINFUL NATURE

We are told that Jesus had our “sinful nature.” “He took upon Him our sinful nature.” Ellen G. White, Signs of the Times, 7/30/02. “In him was no guile nor sinfulness,….yet He took upon Him our sinful nature.” Ibid. From what we have just read, we see that the term “sinful nature” for Mrs. White does not mean that the person has sin for she says that Jesus was sinfree. But what does sinful nature mean that the person? A. It means human nature affected by sin not infected with  sin. B. It means human nature weakened by sin, but not resided by sin. C. This is the Mind, Emotions/Passions, Flesh and Experience weakened by sin, but not necessarily indwelt by sin. D. It is quite true that man’s sinful nature, a nature weakened by sin, in the average sinner may have sin in it. So sinful nature for the sinner in sin is a nature weakened by sin, but the man has sin in this nature. E. This means the man has sin in his Mind, Passions/Emotions, Experience, and sin in his flesh is sin in his Mi...
