THE PURPOSE OF THUSIA (SDA) TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM OF SIN By Nyron Medina

Christ warned of false Christianity coming. Matt. 24:3-5.
We are warned that they shall have a form of godliness but denying the power which is the Gospel. (2 Tim. 3:1,5; Rom. 1:16,17; Isa. 48:1).
We must preach Christ and Him crucified. 1 Cor. 1:18,23.
Why? Because Christ is meant to save people from sin. Matt. 1:21.
What is the problem of man? It is Adam sin that caused all of us to sin. Rom. 5:12.
We are to preach against sin because it is the problem of man. Rom. 3:10-19,23.
What is sin? It is transgression of God’s Law. 1 Jn. 3:4; Jam. 2:9-11.
The problem of man is that he has a sinful mind, a mind that cannot be subject to God’s Law. Rom. 8:6-8.
Our sins have caused us to be corrupted. Isa. 1:4-6.
Our sins have separated us from God. Isa. 59:1,2.
Man is therefore a slave of sin. But Jesus came to deliver us from sin. Jn. 8:34-36.
Can we really overcome sin? Yes we certainly can. Ps. 119:9,11; Isa. 1:16-18.
This is why we are told to awake to Righteousness and sin not. 1 Cor. 15:34.

EGW QUOTE ON SINFUL NATURE

We are told that Jesus had our “sinful nature.” “He took upon Him our sinful nature.” Ellen G. White, Signs of the Times, 7/30/02. “In him was no guile nor sinfulness,….yet He took upon Him our sinful nature.” Ibid. From what we have just read, we see that the term “sinful nature” for Mrs. White does not mean that the person has sin for she says that Jesus was sinfree. But what does sinful nature mean that the person? A. It means human nature affected by sin not infected with  sin. B. It means human nature weakened by sin, but not resided by sin. C. This is the Mind, Emotions/Passions, Flesh and Experience weakened by sin, but not necessarily indwelt by sin. D. It is quite true that man’s sinful nature, a nature weakened by sin, in the average sinner may have sin in it.
