The essence or the whole of man's duty on earth is sinfreeness (Eccl.12:13,14) for which he will be held accountable in the judgement. Hence the essence of the gospel of salvation is sinfreeness. The gospel is referred to as the power of God unto salvation (from sin) - Rom.1:16, 1Cor.1:18,1Peter1:3,5. There is no power to be seen in God somehow transferring or accounting righteousness to an account as is falsely taught by the religious world. The power of God unto salvation is however clearly seen in God's creative power in making us sinfree. The essence of the true gospel which is the power of God unto salvation could really only be seen to bestow power; because it involves a perfect transformative and regenerative work of the new creation in Christ (2Cor.5:17), which none but God alone has power to do. Thus the keeping of the Sabbath Holy (which is directly linked in showing forth God's creative power) by the saints testifies that Yahweh is their God and that he is the one that sanctifies them, (Ezek.20:12,20) for none else could make them Holy to keep the Sabbath Holy.

Only a little while.” Ellen G. White, Selected Messages bk. 3, pg. 419. And in view of the lateness of time, what should be the inquiry of everyone? We are told: “The inquiry of everyone should be ‘whose am I? To whom do I owe allegiance? Is my heart renewed? Is my soul reformed? Are my sins forgiven? Will they be blotted out when the time of refreshing shall come?” Ibid, pg. 419. We must needs examine ourselves to see if we...
