Titus 3:5-8
JUSTIFICATION IS THE WASHING OF REGENERATION
5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
JUSTIFICATION -THE WASHING OF JUSTIFICATION SANCTIFIES (the taking away of sin, we are now sinfree)
Eph 5:26-27
26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
JUSTIFICATION IS SANCTIFICATION (a separation from sin)
1 Cor 6:9-12
9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
WHEN GOD MAKE US CLEAN WE CAN NOW KEEP GOD'S LAW
Ezek 36:25-27
25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.
26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.
The next time you wash your hands, think about how God can use his word to clean your heart (old English for mind) or justify you. See above water represents the word.
John 15:3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
