EXODUS 2O:8 Remember the Sabbath to Keep it holy. This part of the Sabbath command has to do with the sinfree holy experience that one receives in justification,1st sanctification. You can only keep the Sabbath holy because you are made holy in justification, 1 st sanctification (not counted as if your are holy) the Sabbath is a fruit sign that God is your God sanctifying you, See Ex 31:13, Ezekiel 2012,20. The other part of the Sabbath command Ex 20:9-11 is the works that you aught to obey because you are obedient to your God who sanctified you.
9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
The Sabbath is a fruit - sign of Sanctification. Ex. 31:13.
It is kept through the whole of its twenty-four hours being involved in keeping the Law, or being sinfreee. Isa. 58:13; Isa. 56:2,4,6.. Keeping the Law means that we love God. Ex. 20:6; 1 Jn. 5: 3.
Justification gives us the spiritual mind. (Rom. 8:6; Rom. 5: 1).
When we are Justified the old man of sin is slain and the body of sins is inactivated (passions) so that we are separated from sin. Rom. 6:6,7,11.
Thus Justification separates us from sin or sanctifies us initially. (Tit. 3:5-7; 1 Jn. 3:9). Also, It makes us keep the Law of works. Rom. 3:28,30,31.
And this is exactly what the keeping of the Sabbath day is all about. Ex. 35:1-3.
Thus Justification, by changing us, makes us love God or keep the Law which is the experience of keeping the seventh day Sabbath.
.Whosoever therefore loves God through Justification will love to keep the Sabbath day.
(Rom. 3:28,30,31; 1 Jn. 5:3; Ex. 31:13).
