1. The “obedience of faith” is a special teaching in the holy Bible. Romans 16:26.
To understand this teaching we must start with what is Faith. Faith is revealed Truths of God. 1 Timothy 4:6; Romans 10:8; Hebrews 11:1.
This revealed Truths of God, Faith, comes to us as the Holy Spirit. John 14:26; John 15:26; John 16:13,14; 1 John 5:6; 1 John 2:27.
Thus the Spirit of Truth, which is the Holy Spirit, is He who gives Faith to us. 1 Corinthians 2:9-13; 1 Corinthians 12:9.
No man can obey God by his own ability, if they try, they will fail. Romans 9:31,32.
Without Faith it is impossible to please God. Hebrews 11:6.
The only victory that we can have, comes only through Faith. 1 John 5:4; Hebrews 10:38.
We need two kinds of obedience to be saved. Romans 3:23.
a. Spiritual Obedience: We need to glorify God exalting His Righteousness.
b. Works Obedience: We need to do the works of God’s Law.
Faith is the means to these two obediences, we need the obedience that comes from Faith—revealed Truths of God. 2 Timothy 3:15.
10. The Righteousness we need is the Righteousness of God which gives salvation. Jeremiah 23:5,6; Isaiah 1:27; Romans 3:21.
This Righteousness of God is through Faith. Philippians 3:9.
Thus the Righteousness of God which is by Faith is given into us. Romans 3:22.
This Righteousness of God is obeyed by Faith, that is, we have this Righteousness in us by Faith, thus we glorify God by it. Romans 4:9,11,20.
However, we cannot do the Law without this Righteousness of God (which is by Faith), it is only when we submit to this Righteousness of God, then we can do the Law. Romans 10:1-3.
The Faith that gives us the Righteousness of God also makes us obey the Law. Romans 3:28,30,31.
Thus the obedience of Faith is an obedience that is, caused by Faith, it is the glorifying of God by Faith, that is, having His Righteousness exalted within, and through this same Faith being obedient to the Law of God. (Isaiah 5:16, Psalms 71:15,16; Revelation 14:12).
