Evangelicals need circumcision of heart to truly Love the Lord
The Evangelicals problem generally is their heart is unchanged, and without Love in it they cannot keep the commandments. That is where their problem lies. Their heart is carnal and hate the law.
As it is written in Rom.8:6-7 "6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be." And yes they would be hypocrites like the Jews/Pharisees to try to do it with their carnal unconverted heart. They need conversion of heart first which is called Justification/Sanctification (Conversion of heart at times is referred to as Sanctification when the context is a setting apart for Holy use). Evidence of God giving a person a new heart or Sanctification is them being made a keeper of the law including the Sabbath. As it is written in Ezekiel 20:12 "Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the Lord that sanctify them."
