Forgiveness offers us another chance for sinfreeness not a way to sin freely without fear of condemnation or damnation.
Truly asking God to forgive you of your sins involves Holy Spirit motivated repentance, a repentance that acknowledges the sinful values you had that caused you to sin are really empty to bring satisfaction, purpose, meaning and pleasure. Asking forgiveness also involves accepting Christ's divine character to replace your sinful idol values. If a person believes they have to sin then they cannot take responsibility for their choices and thus cannot be sorry for wrong done or appreciate the Divine Nature that is being offered by God to replace their carnal mind that caused them to sin.
1Corinthians 10:13
"There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it."
If you sin (not when you sin) you have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the Righteous. 1John 2:1. The earlier part of the verse says "My little children, these things I write to unto you, that he sin not". So please don't use God's available mercy as an excuse to transgress His law.
P.S. When we are forgiven which is conversion we obtain the Spiritual mind in place of the carnal mind. The carnal mind must be replaced in forgiveness because it is void of the Spirit of Christ and is not subject to the law of God (See Rom.8:6-10). It must be replaced because it is impossible to live sinfree with the carnal mind. When we sin we build back the carnal mind which which was destroyed (Gal.2:17-18) in conversion/forgiveness. Thus forgiveness in giving us the Spiritual mind in Christ cleanses us of all unrighteousness and gives us another chance to live sinfree.
