When David prayed in Psalms 51 in sin my mother conceived me he meant he was conceived without God/Love as his ideal value in his mind as the cause of his sin, not a sin nature, hence he went on to say "thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom." " Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
To interpret verse 5 to speak of a
sin nature is out of context to David's prayer of repentance. If he told God he was born with a sin nature hence the reason he sinned then that would be seeking an excuse for his sin. But David goes on to explain the solution was the rooting of truth in the heart to have the wisdom that is unto salvation from sin (2Tim.3:15) in Psalms 51:6.
Bro. David implies further that the cause of his sin was the values of his mind and not having God as the ideal when he said "Restore unto me the joy of salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. Then will I teach transgressors thy ways, and sinners will be converted unto thee." David here identifies when he is restored with the Spirit of truth (which is to dwell in His mind) he could lead sinners to be restored as himself. Thus his conversion lead him to converting sinners to saints - which are those that keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus (Rev.14:6). If it was a sin nature that caused David to sin, how could he convert transgressors to God by teaching them how to walk in God's way if he had an unchanged sin nature as them that also causes them to sin.
The concept of total transformation into sinfreeness at repentance and then teaching others to be made sinfree thereafter is seen also in 2 Cor.5:17-18. I quote:
2 Cor.5:17-18
"17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation."
David would have been given the ministry of reconciliation after being converted and made sinfree - that all things of him were of God.
Paul could not say all the old sinful things are passed away if the person still had sin within due to a sin nature, Paul could not say that all things had become new, and all things were of God if the flesh was sin, since the flesh remain.
So my dear facebook friends we see here there needs to be thoroughness in examining doctrinal positions that we will truly have the wisdom that is unto salvation by the truth in the inward parts.
P.S. A baby is not born holy, righteous and with God as its ideal value because it has not reached the age of reason to reason out and know right from wrong, and to make a choice for the right, that God as Love could be valued in their mind to keep God in their mind by valuing Him. This would be manifested if
it were possible by lonsuffering and
patience when not yet fed.
God only dwells in our mind as Love when we choose to have the Love reavealing truth in the mind. This means to maintain God in the mind we must maintain our choice by maintaing a valuing of the truth. This valuing of the truth is obtained initially by God reasoning with man. And God then by Divine power rooting the truth in the mind as the person's experience when they believe. Hence it is written in Isaiah 1:18
"Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool."
And because the salvation experience must be consciously maintained to be saved in the context of the blotting out of the record of sins in the investigative judgement it is written in Matt.24:13
"But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved."
And in Acts 3:19
"Repent ye therefore, and be converted (transformative aspect of salvation), that your sins may be blotted out (forensic aspect in passing in the investigative judgement), when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.
Psalms 1:5
Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
