THE OBEDIENCE OF FAITH Study Document

THE OBEDIENCE OF FAITH
Study Document

1. The “obedience of faith” is a special teaching in the holy Bible. Romans 16:26.

2. To understand this teaching we must start with what is Faith. Faith is the revealed Truths
of God. 1 Timothy 4:6; Romans 10:8; Hebrews 11:1-2.

3. This revealed Truths of God, Faith, comes to us as the Holy Spirit. John 14:26; John
15:26; John 16:13, 14; 1 John 5:6; 1 John 2:27.

4. Thus the Spirit of Truth, which is the Holy Spirit, is He who gives Faith to us. 1
Corinthians 2:9-13; 1 Corinthians 12:9.

5. No man can obey God by his own ability, if they try, they will fail. Romans 9:31, 32.
6. Without Faith it is impossible to please God. Hebrews 11:6.
7. The only victory that we can have, comes only through Faith. 1 John 5:4; Hebrews 10:38.
8. We need two kinds of obedience to be saved. Romans 3:23.
a. Spiritual Obedience: We need to glorify God exalting His Righteousness.
b. Works Obedience: We need to do the works of God’s Law.
9. Faith is the means to these two obedience, we need the obedience that comes from Faith—
revealed Truths of God. 2 Timothy 3:15.

10. The Righteousness we need is the Righteousness of God which gives salvation. Jeremiah
23:5, 6; Isaiah 1:27; Romans 3:21.

11. This Righteousness of God is through Faith. Philippians 3:9.
12. Thus the Righteousness of God which is by Faith is given into us. Romans 3:22.
13. This Righteousness of God is obeyed by Faith, that is, we have this Righteousness in us by
Faith, and thus we glorify God by it. Romans 4:9, 11, 20.

14. However, we cannot do the Law without this Righteousness of God (which is by Faith), it
is only when we submit to this Righteousness of God, then we can do the Law. Romans
10:1-3.
15. The Faith that gives us the Righteousness of God also makes us obey the Law. Romans
3:28, 30, 31.

16. Thus the obedience of Faith is an obedience that is, caused by Faith, it is the glorifying of
God by Faith that is, having His Righteousness exalted within, and through this same Faith
being obedient to the Law of God. (Isaiah 5:16, Psalms 71:15, 16; Revelation 14:12

Disproving the So-called Forensic Gospel

Disproving the So-called Forensic Gospel INTRODUCTION 1. The Bible tells us that any false gospel is a thing cursed by God. Galatians 1:6-9. 2. The false gospel makes us say Lord, Lord, but do not His Will, such people are lost.  Matthew 7:21-23. 3. The false gospel is described as untempered mortar that cannot help. Ezekiel 13:9-16. 4. It also tells a person peace, peace, (which is given by Justification) when there is no peace.  Romans 5:1; Jeremiah 8:10, 11. 5. However, the real Gospel is described as the power or science of God unto salvation  because it makes the believer, live by Faith. Romans 1:16, 17. 6. The Bible clearly explains that the Gospel of God’s Grace teaches denying ungodliness, it  teaches living righteously, it teaches that the purpose of the sacrifice of Christ was to  redeem us from all iniquities, (not in them), and to purify a people who are preoccupied  with performing good works. This is what ...

WHAT OUR INQUIRY ABOUT OURSELVES SHOULD BE?

WHAT OUR INQUIRY ABOUT OURSELVES  SHOULD BE? We are in the very last days, we are told that the last controversy will be very short. “We are standing on the threshold of great and solemn events. Prophecies are fulfilling. The last great conflict will be short, but terrible. Old controversies will be revived. New controversies will arise. We have a great work to do. Our ministerial work must not cease. The last warning must be given to the world. There is a special power in the presentation of the truth at the present time. How long will it last? Only a little while.” Ellen G. White, Selected Messages bk. 3, pg. 419. And in view of the lateness of time, what should be the inquiry of everyone? We are told: “The inquiry of everyone should be ‘whose am I? To whom do I owe allegiance? Is my heart renewed? Is my soul reformed? Are my sins forgiven? Will they be blotted out when the time of refreshing shall come?” Ibid, pg. 419. We must needs examine ourselves to see if we...

MRS WHITE QUOTES ON THE 1888 MESSAGE REJECTION

1. “The Lord in His great mercy sent a most precious message to His people through Elders Waggoner and Jones.” — TM p. 91. 2. “God gave to His servants a testimony that presented the truth as it is in Jesus, which is the third angel’s message, in clear distinct lines” — TM p. 93. 3. “The message of the gospel of His grace was to be given to the church in clear and distinct lines, that the world should no longer say that Seventh-Day Adventists talk the law, the law, but do not teach or believe Christ. The efficacy of the blood of Christ was to be presented to the people with freshness and power.” — TM p. 92. 4. “This is the very work which the Lord designs that the message He has given His servants, shall perform in the heart and mind of every human agent….God gave to His messengers just what the people needed.” — TM p. 95. 5. “The Lord would have these grand themes studied in our churches, and if every church member shall give entrance to the word of God it will give light and...
