SEPARATION ON THE GROUNDS OF APOSTACY BY SISTER WHITE (Great Controversy Chapter 2 page 44-45)
"After a long and severe conflict, the faithful few decided to dissolve all union with the apostate church if she still refused to free herself from falsehood and idolatry. They saw that separation was an absolute necessity if they would obey the word of God. They dared not tolerate errors fatal to their own souls, and set an example which would imperil the faith of their children and children's children. To secure peace and unity they were ready to make any concession consistent with fidelity to God; but they felt that even peace would be too dearly purchased at the sacrifice of principle. If unity could be secured only by the compromise of truth and righteousness, then let there be difference, and even war."
P.S. Apostacy has been rife in the church since 1888 when the true view of Righteousness by faith was presented and rejected. Thus the conditions of the past exist today of having a long severe conflict against apostacy in the church.

Summary Conclusion on the Righteousness of God

It is true to say that the Righteousness of God is the Law of God proper, it is equally true to say that it is Christ’s perfect obedience to the Law, for Christ is God, and all His historical obedience was righteousness. To claim that all God’s salvific administration towards sinful humanity is the Righteousness of God is to be on target, for so also do the scriptures speak. But what is the Righteousness of God that is imputed to us? What is the Righteousness of God that is given to us in Justification and is our salvation? It is none of the Righteousness of God we have referred to above.
