The church may appear as about to fall, but it does not fall.. the Truth about this Sis White Quote.
The following is a Sister White quote that was misused to counteract a post I wrote:
"Ordeal of the Sifting Time—"Satan will work his miracles to deceive; he will set up his power as supreme. The church may appear as about to fall, but it does not fall. It remains, while the sinners in Zion will be sifted out—the chaff separated from the precious wheat. This is a terrible ordeal, but nevertheless it must take place. None but those who have been overcoming by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony will be found with the loyal and true, without spot or stain of sin, without guile in their mouths.... The remnant that purify their souls by obeying the truth gather strength from the trying process, exhibiting the beauty of holiness amid the surrounding apostasy." (Letter 55, 1886).
My response:
1.The church in the quote that will appear to fall is described as overcoming by the word of Jesus (note GC Adventist many times say doctrine does not save) while those that are sifted out are called sinners in Zion ( General Conference Adventist believe you can not be sinfree).
2.Being affiliated to the church govrnment of the General Conference is not what constitutes one belonging to Zion which is God's spiritual kingdom. All who worship God in Spirit and in truth belong to Zion or God's Spiritual Kingdom.
3. God has no regard for men and their governing system above His very word, God's word is of such utmost importance the bible tells that He holds His word above His very name - Psalms 138:2. The only religious authority one can have, is in standing on God's word. It is popery to feel ones ecclesiastical position makes him infallible so that the membership should follow his ideas and opinions blindly. For instance It is not God's will or word that His people Zion be taught by ministers who are contaminated by the General Conference false saved in sin teachings. And it is not God's word or His will that such ministers be leaders in Zion.
4. It is Catholic to think there is no salvation outside the General Conference directed churches, whether the GC is in Apostacy or not. It is popery to think that churches not affiliated to that church goverment - the General Conference - are not God's church.
